Title: Histotechnologist
Location: Atlanta, GA
Duration: Full time Employee
Description:
Performs complex histologic procedures and serves as a technical resource for less experienced staff. Assists in providing leadership and direction to technical staff and other support personnel. Assists with research projects. Maintains laboratory supplies and equipment; participates in the formulation and revision of departmental policies and procedures. Oversees quality assurance activities and makes recommendations for improvement. Supervises a group of employees within a section.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor's's degree in a chemical or biological science. Certification as a Histotechnologist (HTL) by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP). Five years of related experience.
EDUCATION EXCEPTION:
A bachelor's degree may be waived for a Histotechnologist HTL (ASCP) who was certified in the years prior to the bachelor's degree requirement by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.
