We are seeking a BE/BC pediatrician to serve a community in northern Michigan. The successful candidate will partner with two other pediatricians, one within the practice and the other an independent community pediatrician. The physician will work four days a week and will see 30 to 32 patients a day. Each physician has three exam rooms. Staff includes two nurses, two front office personnel, and an office manager, all well trained and experienced in their respective areas of responsibility.
Electronic medical records (EMR) will be instituted in 2008. Dictation is presently transcribed in-house, with single-day turn around service.
The current physicians have served this community faithfully, one for 22 years and the other for 27 years, a strong testimonial to the medical community as a whole and the areaís great lifestyle.
The physician will share call with his partner and the community pediatrician. Call is made up primarily of obstetrics, which could average two to three evening calls during the week and four to five calls on weekends. Rounds would average two to three patients on weekends.
Two full-time and one part-time obstetrician/gynecologists deliver 220 to 250 babies annually. The pediatrician can expect to attend complicated deliveries and some c-sections, depending upon the delivering obstetrician/gynecologist preferences.
The hospitalís urgent care center is opened from 10 AM to 9 PM seven days a week, takes overflow from the office, and sees patients evenings and weekends. A pediatric cardiologist is just 15 minutes away. A local otolaryngologist and orthopedic surgeon see children. A Green Bay pediatric endocrinologist also visits routinely. Pediatric referrals are made to one of three hospitals, including those in Green Bay or Milwaukee.
This community is just ten minutes from the pristine shores of Lake Superior, the largest fresh-water lake in the world. It is home to a hearty culture that enjoys the robust lifestyle and the altruistic character of its citizenry. Winters are filled with outdoor activities, dog sled races, cross country ski races, downhill skiing, ice fishing, snowmobiling, winter carnivals, and more. Spring is when everyone starts putting away their winter equipment in favor of biking, hiking, fishing, and camping gear, kayaks, canoes, yachts, fishing boats. These will be enjoyed throughout the summer months and into the fall.
