Position
Kansas - Our client seeks two BE/BC’d OB/GYNs to join its thriving medical community. The incoming physician may choose between becoming a hospital employee or working independently. The hospital has one other OB/GYN that has practiced in the community since 1976. This physician will be retiring in 2006. It is anticipated the new physician will step into this thriving practice. Four family physicians also practice obstetrics, but two plan to drop their privileges once a new OB/GYN is recruited. A general surgeon is willing to assist with c-sections. Two anesthesiologists and a CRNA are also on staff.
Facilities
The hospital draws from a population of 160,000, spread over a six-county area. In 2004, there were 245 deliveries at the hospital. It is estimated that 100 local patients delivered outside the county. Nearby hospitals had over 360 deliveries.
The medical center is currently initiating a $20 million expansion that includes renovations to the surgery and emergency departments, and the construction of a new medical office building and outpatient women’s center. The new physician will be a key contributor in developing this product line. The hospital will also provide marketing assistance to the new physician.
