Wisconsin – We seek two internists to join one other internist in an 8,000-sq ft out-patient setting. This community-based practice is attached to the medical center. The physicians will have dedicated exam rooms, a medical assistant and a triage nurse. There is a shared pool of receptionists, coders, transcriptionists, ancillary technicians and business office staff. The practice began using electronic medical records (EMR) in 2003. This position will partner with a dedicated and highly qualified medical staff, including mid-level providers. There is also an opportunity to see nursing home patients, if desired.
This is an employee position with a two-year $160,000 annual guarantee. After that period, the physicians will move to an incentive compensation plan. There is an option to go on the incentive plan after one year, if the physicians meets their financial targets.
The physicians will enjoy a 4-day workweek and share 1:6 “at home” call. A nurse triage service screens all calls before transferring them to the on-call physician.
Hospital patients are admitted to the local medical center by a hospitalist service that provides double coverage during the day and in-house coverage at night. The 7-hospitalist staff manages all admissions.
