|Excellent opportunity to join southwest Missouriís premier health system
Our client, the premier healthcare system in southwest Missouri, seeks a BE/BC Internist to join a very busy and successful hospitalist program. Started in 2001, the service now includes eight physicians, including five general internists, a pediatrician, and an IM/Pediatrician. This collegial group promotes a philosophy of working hard and playing hard. Members are young, energetic, and work well together.
Physicians follow their admissions throughout the patientís hospital stay to improve continuity of care. The group enjoys the support of hospital management in working independently, designing their own schedules and policies. A team environment exists throughout the medical staff with good medical sub-specialist support.
Hospitalists do not work fixed shifts, instead they work like a traditional internist, without the burden of office responsibilities. This allows them to better control their schedules and time off.
Types of cases: General internal medicine, ICU, chest pain observation and stress treadmills.
Volume: Average census of 10 to 12 patients. Total encounters 15 to 20 per day including chest pain and stress treadmills.
Compensation is based on a percentage of billed charges, which has resulted in compensation at the 90th percentile of MGMA rates.
Schedule/Call: one day per week on call for admissions (avg 5 to 15 per 24 hours); one day per week on call for chest pain observation/stress treadmills (avg 150 total patients per month for the service); one weekend call per month, rounds only, no admissions; other days round on admissions only (physicians are not required to remain in the hospital after rounds).
Providing the best of both worlds, residents enjoy metropolitan amenities including five-star dining, high-end shopping, abundant cultural and recreational venues, all amidst the surroundings of gorgeous forests and rolling hills of the Ozarks. Table Rock Lake is located within one hour. Award-winning schools, family-oriented culture, affordable homes, and safe streets make this community an exceptional place to work and raise a family!
