Facility Description:

This hospital located in Southwest Houston is a comprehensive JCAHO-accredited medical facility. As the city's largest and most sophisticated suburban hospital, it has been serving the community since 1977. A recent $50million expansion resulted in the opening in 1995 of a new pavilion dedicated to radiologic testing, surgery services, and women's services, including facilities for antepartum testing, labor and delivery, and a breast center. The pavilion also includes an expansive health and wellness room and outpatient physical therapy department.

Unit Description:

From tiny preemies to critically ill infants with multiple medical problems, youngest patients receive expert care in this facility's neonatal critical care units. This hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is a Level III nursery equipped to care for the most critically ill infants born as early as 23 weeks gestation and weighing as little as 1 lb. Among the highly specialized services available in the Neonatal ICU is Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO).

Job Summary:

The NICU Clinical Manager is responsible for supervising department staff and participating in the marketing, planning, program development, and community outreach functions; for providing leadership to the nursing unit and for ensuring positive physician/staff relations; acts as interim or relief department director as necessary.


Graduate of a school of professional nursing; BSN required. Current State of Texas license/permit to practice professional nursing. Completion of Basic Life Support or other certification based on nursing unit requirements. Three or more years current NICU experience required. Must be available to cover call on weekends and holidays as needed, as well as dayshift/nightshift as needed.
