Requires current AZ RN license or other compact state RN license. One year of Behavioral Health (Psych) experience is preferred, however, new graduates will be considered on an individual basis. Must possess highly developed interpersonal skills and demonstrate behaviors consistent with those identified as the hospital's service standards.
These positions serve as base unit staff for the Behavioral Health Unit. Incumbents will use specialized knowledge, judgment and nursing skills based upon the principles of biological, physical and social sciences to facilitate patient's achievement of optimum health status. Provides leadership and coordination to the healthcare team and will maintain standards of professional skills.
This is a Level I Behavioral Health Unit providing psychiatric acute care to adults in need of treatment for acute psychiatric episodes, exacerbation of chronic psychiatric conditions or medical detoxification. Treatment consists of thorough psychiatric assessment, somatic interventions such as pharmoco-therapy and electro convulsive therapy and milieu therapy.
Number of beds:
8 hour, day, evening and night or 12 hour day and night
Every other weekend off.
A modified total patient care concept provides the nurse the opportunity for close interaction with his/her patients while at the same time having support personnel available on the unit. The RN coordinates and communicates patient care needs with other members of the patient care team. All staff members are considered valuable members of the team.

Attending physicians along with psychiatry residents collaborate with RN’s, Psychiatric Technicians, Social Workers and Recreational Therapists in the treatment of our patients.
