Requires current AZ RN license or other compact state RN license. One year of Transplant/Nephrology experience is preferred, however, new graduates will be considered on an individual basis. Must possess highly developed interpersonal skills and demonstrate behaviors consistent with those identified as the hospital's service standards.
These positions serve as base unit staff for the Transplant/Hepatology/Nephrology Unit. Incumbents will use specialized knowledge, judgment and nursing skills based upon the principles of biological, physical and social sciences to facilitate patient's achievement of optimum health status. Provides leadership and coordination to the healthcare team and will maintain standards of professional skills.
This unit is the inpatient Transplant/Hepatology/Nephrology unit specializing in transplant (kidney, kidney/pancreas, and liver) hepatology and nephrology patients. Our focus of care is for patients requiring renal replacement therapy: renal transplant, hemodialysis, and peritoneal dialysis. A close working relationship is maintained between this unit and the Kidney Center, Transplant Services and other medical nursing units. This unit also has a variety of team resources such as:
ß Renal/transplant social workers
ß Renal/transplant nutritionists
ß Transplant coordinator
ß Clinical Care Manager
ß Hemodialysis trained nurses
ß Transplant surgeons
ß Medical teaching staff
The team concept provides our patients the continuity of care and patient teaching to further the independent self care prograss of our patients.
Number of beds:
45 beds – acute/chronic care
12-hour shifts are available – 7a-7p and 7p-7a
Currently transitioned into a case management delivery system that assures continuity of care throughout the hospitalization period and discharge of the patient. Customer satisfaction is our number one goal.
