Local Pulmonologist is nearing retirement and slowing down. He is looking for a candidate that is Board Certified in Pulmonology and has an interest in critical care or sleep disorders. He is currently in a solo practice, but cross-covers with two other independent pulmonologists, which makes the call coverage group, one-in-four. He currently does not use a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in his practice and has about 6,000 active charts. He probably sees between 20-40 patients/day the three days that he is in his office. He has no evening hours and has a very favorable payer mix of 49% Medicare, 46% private pay and 5% Medicaid or self-pay. He has a 2500 sq. ft. office that will accommodate two physicians immediately. A one-year income guarantee sponsored by the local hospital that has currently merged with another community hospital and has plans to build a new 350 bed healthcare facility. One to two years to partnership and another two to five years before retirement of local area physician. Nominal buy-in to partnership which would be offered in six months to one year.
