A Northeast Wisconsin integrated health system, seeks a BE/BC internist/hospitalist to join a 14-physician hospitalist medical staff in the Fox Valley of Wisconsin. These facilities have been recognized as Solucient “Top 100 Hospitals” and “#1 Consumer Choice” facilities by the National Research Corporation. Primary care physicians initiated the hospitalist program in 1998, providing a solid base of support by referring physicians. Since its inception, overall inpatient mortality rates have dropped 16 percent. Overall lengths of stay for the five most common ailments, including pneumonia, stroke, chest pain, and congestive heart failure, have dropped by 7.5 percent. The improved outcomes and shorter stays have resulted in a 9.6 percent drop in the average charge per patient.

  • Medical Facilities

    A 160-bed hospital is breaking new ground and records with its key programs and services. The on-campus heart institute has been a leader in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular disease for the past 20 years. Their surgeons perform approximately 300 open-heart procedures annually. The cancer center provides both inpatient and outpatient therapy and ongoing support services. The new surgery center has seven surgical suites, four procedure rooms, and a cystoscopy room.


    A 260-bed hospital continues to have a viable presence in the local medical community. Its ACS Level II trauma center has a dedicated chest pain center, helicopter-based response service, and board certified emergency medicine physicians. The neuroscience center includes a six-bed neurological intensive care unit. The center for rehabilitation services treats trauma, stroke, orthopedic, and neuromuscular conditions. It also has a dedicated pediatric program. A children’s hospital has a fully staffed Level III neonatal ICU.


    Community

    This area offers the charm, safety, and convenience of small town life, and the diversity and vitality of a metropolitan area. It is comprised of 18 municipalities. The population of the Fox Cities area is approximately 100,000, and the metropolitan statistical area (MSA) is nearly 349,000.



    The area economy is healthy, producing low unemployment and sufficient revenues to ensure that area residents can enjoy the municipal necessities that make like safe, convenient, and fun, those such as a strong infrastructure, plentiful parks and well-maintained recreational facilities, adequate fire and police protection, etc.


    The area has a broad selection of cultural, recreational, religious, and educational facilities. Local churches, synagogues, and temples accommodate just about every religious faith. There are three major shopping centers, as well as bustling, revitalized downtown areas, assuring shoppers that they can shop ’til they drop.


    Education

    Wisconsin’s public schools have consistently ranked among the top ten states in the nation. The community has three public high schools, plus a large Catholic high school. In addition to numerous grade schools, it is home to the new Classical Charter School. It offers its 200 elementary students an education based on academic achievement with intensive phonics, a classical curriculum, and direct instruction. A local private university has extensive music and arts programs for both children and adults. A major university spreads over 41 acres of land and has 1,782 students. The technical college, ranked among the nation’s top three vocational schools, offers customized training to help business professionals keep pace with changing technologies.
