Chief Medical Officer - American Samoa
This position requires a minimum TWO YEAR commitment. Salary in the $110,000 range. Incentives include; a car, temp housing, a housing allowance, and excellent PTO.

The CMO reports to the Chief Executive Officer and will be responsible for the ongoing leadership and operation of the facility. Qualified candidates will be board certified or eligible physicians with leadership experience. Individuals must be culturally sensitive and able to successfully operate in a political and family oriented environment. Strong financial, operational, and medical staff relation skills are a must.
LBJ Tropical Medical Center is a 128-bed, government-operated medical center and is the sole provider of acute medical care in the American Samoa island chain. Services include medical/surgical care, intensive care, obstetrics, mental health services, dialysis, surgery, radiology, and emergency services. The hospital is currently involved in an ongoing renovation process that is scheduled to be completed in the next three to four years.
Pago Pago is the political, administrative, and commercial center of the territory. The city is set on a beautiful harbor and surrounded by lush green mountains. As the most Americanized island in the South Pacific, a full range of products and services are readily available, including mainland food. The population of 70,000 is warm, friendly, and family oriented. A warm climate and picturesque landscape is perfect for the outdoor lover. The island offers a wide variety of outdoor activities including golf and fishing. The island also offers affordable travel to New Zealand, Australia, Hawaii, and other regional destinations.
